Markus Drassl

Markus Drassl

Markus Drassl was born in 1980 in South Tyrol, Northern Italy. He earned his degree in painting at the ” Accademia di Belle Arti” in Urbino, Italy. After completing his degree he went to the Peruvian Amazon Rain Forest to further his art studies and to heal. This experience was a huge turning point in his creative and personal life. He began studying the relationship between plant consciousness and it’s connection to his own personal transformation. He has continued this study for the last four years at the healing center Nihue Rao Centro Espiritual just outside of Iquitos, Peru.

In his lastest art series, he is exploring consciousness expansion and emotional healing. The works are called “Butterflying” and transmit the feeling of looking into the subconsciousness. The main focus is on the inner world that the plant medicine brings to the surface and turning the inside to the outside, letting go and cleaning in a process of rebirthing. Markus’ artwork reflects the feeling of being a plucked chicken and a blooming butterfly at the same time—the moment of rebirth in the healing experience.
