Dave Zaboski

Dave Zaboski

Live Painting.

Dave Zaboski picked up a crayon as a child and never put it down, dedicating his life to the creative arts.

As a Senior Animator with Disney, Sony and Warner Bros., he has contributed his talents to the contemporary classic films Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, the Lion King, Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Tarzan, The Emperor’s New Groove, Fantasia 2000 and more.

Dave is a classically trained painter and illustrator. He has co-created several internationally published children’s books including “Gideon’s Dream,” with luminaries Dr. Ken and Maddy Dychtwald, “You with the Stars in Your Eyes,” with the legendary Dr. Deepak Chopra and “Chrystallia,” with actor Paul Michael Glaser, among others. He has created concept art for film and game projects, animation for independent films as well as documentaries and has been featured as an artist in the film “Bloom.”

He has created and lead special programs for children of all ages, taught collaborative creativity to entrepreneurs, educators, artists and others seeking to be more creative in their lives. He teaches at world renown retreat centers Esalen, The Summit and Rancho La Puerta. Dave has given lectures on arts and creativity at UCLA, USC, Art Center College of Design in Southern California and internationally. In 2009 he met an enlightened Master from India who pulled him out of a crowd because of the mystical drawings in his sketchbook and on the spot invited him to India to further his studies of energy and art. He gave Dave the name Vishvakarma. Vishva is universe and karma is action. Dave is a keen and constant observer of the sublime beauty of both the seen and unseen in a universe in action.

In 2012 he became the West Coast Champion of Art Battles, a gladiatorial art competition between street artists for live art supremacy. He is a sought after painter performing his art live at popular music festivals like Youtopia, Lucidity and Lightning in a Bottle, where he curates the Art Temple – an experiential, hands on, community based artistically collaborative self expression Temple with live model art classes taught by professional artists. In the summer of 2014 Dave was the Expedition Artist for an international archeological project high in the Peruvian Andes in search of a Lost Inca Temple near Machu Picchu.

Dave lives with his wife Robin, their daughter Grace and a small menagerie on a ranchette in Southern California. He paints and draws daily, has shown his work internationally and speaks regularly about the magic of creativity, innovation and collaboration.
