Rai wëni was born in 1980 in South Tyrol, Northern Italy. He earned his degree in painting at the “Accademia di Belle Arti” in Urbino, Italy. After completing his degree he went to the Peruvian Amazon Rain Forest to further his art studies and to heal. This experience was a huge turning point in his creative and personal life. He began studying the relationship between plant consciousness and its connection to his own personal transformation. He has continued this study for the last seven years at the healing center Nihue Rao Centro Espiritual just outside of Iquitos, Peru.
Rai wëni’s recent works are multilayered paintings depicting Shipibo cosmological designs. He paints his visions of the kënë (vibrational patterns), of the teacher plants and of the representations of ayahuasca and master plants. The painting, “ Caduceus,” is the cover art for the book “The Fellowship of the River” by Dr. Joe Tafur.
